Anne Christine Bert

ESCANABA — Anne Christine Bert went to be with her lord and savior on July 16, 2019. She was born on Jan. 3, 1927, on her family farm in Ensign, Mich. She was 92 years old. She grew up on her family farm in Ensign and attended the Alton School in Ensign. After school, Anne moved to Chicago for work, returning to her family farm to take care of her parents. She spent the majority of her life providing home care to many people. Anne volunteered for the Senior Companion Program for 28 years. She was a faithful attender of Calvary Baptist Church in Escanaba. She loved the Lord, riding her bike, blueberry picking, reading, and music. Anne was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Miles Anderson (Kim Buckman) of Escanaba, Brian (Lourdes) Bert of Menasha, WI, and Betsy (Ed) Harris of Ensign; grandchildren, Natalie Anderson, Summer, Hans, Karmelle, and Sidney Bert, Jared, Brooke, and Gavin Harris; she leaves one sister, Eileen (Gary) Schultz of Yorba Linda, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Waldemar and Hilma Anderson, Anne was preceded in death by her brothers, Grover, Victor, James, and Myron Anderson; and six sisters, Hazel Holm, Evelyn Johnson, Thora Greenlund, Clara Anderson, twin Jane Gardner, and Rose Erickson.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Anne will follow at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services. Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
