PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Kenneth D. Lanaville, 76, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Bark River, passed away on May 11, 2019, in Vero Beach, Fla.

He was born on Nov. 14, 1942, in Escanaba to Mose and Lena (DeGrave) Lanaville.

On April 4, 1964, Ken married Sharon L. “Sherry” Cayer at St. Anthony Church in Wells.

Early in his career, he did concrete, masonry and construction work in the local area and then logging in the 80s. He owned and operated RLR Inc. until he retired in 2005.

Kenny was a member of the Bark River Lions Club for 43 years and was an Elk member for 32 years in Escanaba and Florida.

He enjoyed singing karaoke, gardening and fishing. Ken loved off road racing. He raced for many years and helped bring the Off Road Races to Bark River.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, ­Sherry (Cayer) Lanaville; son, Thomas (Jane) of ­Wilson; daughter, Michelle (David Graham) of Vero Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Matthew (Erin Reule) of ­Norway, Mich., and Sarah (Andrew Porath) of ­Escanaba; great-grandson, Carter Porath; sisters, Marlene Robinson, Joanne (Richard Kurth) Wendt of Escanaba, Marilyn (Wayne) Fournier, Emma Wilson of Dolan Springs, Ariz., and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by Sherry’s siblings, Sheila Broschart and Diane Nelson of Florida, Judy Ranta of Michigan, Richard (Nancy) Cayer and Gordon (Char) Cayer of Michigan, Vivian Koval of California and Gary Cayer of Washington State.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Lena; sisters, Verna Hakes and Donna Lanaville; sister-in-law, Donna Cayer; brothers-in-law, Earl Robinson, Donald Wilson, Russell Hakes, Fred Broschart, Melvin Wendt and Wally Nelson.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. A meal will immediately follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kenneth’s name may be made to the Bark River Lion’s Club. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
