Betty Ann Schultz

ESCANABA — Betty Ann Schultz, 73, of 4763 18th Road, Escanaba, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, at her home. She was born June 17, 1945 in Stromsburg, Neb., the daughter of Floyd and Grace (Lind) Schultz. Betty moved with her family to Wells at the age of 13. Betty was a member of the 1963 graduating class of Escanaba High School, which was the first class to graduate from the new high school. She then attended Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba and graduated from Bay in 1967 with a secretary’s degree. Betty was employed with Bark River Culvert in Escanaba as a secretary and later with Roland Machinery until her retirement 2008. After her retirement, Betty worked at Kmart from 2009 to 2014. Betty was a member of the First Methodist Church in Escanaba, was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening, bowling and hiking. In the 1970’s she hiked the Oregon Trail. Betty was an animal lover – she especially loved dogs and enjoyed reading dog magazines.

Betty Ann Schultz is survived by one sister, Patsy Schultz of Escanaba; one brother, Jerry (Barbara) Schultz of Escanaba; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Barney.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, June 7, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty will follow at 4 p.m. Friday in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan Edwardson officiating. A luncheon will be served afterward at the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
