Patricia A. Berg

ESCANABA — Patricia A. Berg, 90, of Escanaba, our dear mother and grandmother, passed away on Jan. 30, 2019, at Christian Park Health Care Center. She was born June 27, 1928, in Escanaba to Mildred and John (Gerald) Kenneally. She graduated from Escanaba High School and married Arnold Berg on Dec. 31, 1949, at St. Anthony’s Parish.

Pat worked for many years as a clerk and typist at the West End Drug store. She was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella. In 2008, she resided at Christian Park Health Care Center until her death.

Pat was an avid knitter, and always had yarn and needles in her hands. She and her husband loved going to the casino and eating meals with their friends at the Senior Center. Pat also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her childhood, forever friend, Betty Karnitz. She savored visits from her family and anyone who knew her saw the great love she had for them.

She was a loyal wife and an amazing mother. She loved conversing with people and cherished the many friendships she made over the years. Pat had this way of making people smile and feel special. More than getting gifts, she got such joy out of giving little treasures to people in the nursing home, which is a true testament to her character.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; and siblings, Geraldine Gorenchan and Robert Kenneally.

Surviving family members include daughter, Julie (Bob) Zielinski of St. Jonns, Mich.; her son, Gary Berg of Escanaba; and grandchildren Jamie (Zielinski) Witt, Jenna Zielinski, Robin Berg, Jason Berg, Stacey Millgren and Michael Millgren.

The family would like to acknowledge the numerous loving caregivers at Christian Park Health Care Center over the many years who made our mother feel loved. May God bless you for your many acts of kindness, you’re forever in our prayers.

Visitation will be on Friday, Feb. 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba, The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Reverend Emmett Norden officiating.
