Mary Ann Barbieri

VANCOUVER Wash. — Mary Ann (Viitala) Barbieri, 83, Dec. 15, 1935 to Feb. 8, 2019, passed away at home in (Salmon Creek) Vancouver, Wash. She was born in Escanaba, Mich., to Matt and Ruby Viitala.

Mary Ann graduated from Escanaba High School and shortly thereafter married John Barbieri of Chicago in Vancouver, Wash. The couple moved to Japan while John served in the Army. Later the couple relocated to Longview, Wash., Chicago Ill., Battle Ground, Wash., and finally Salmon Creek in Vancouver, Wash.

Mary Ann was the office manager/bookkeeper of Barbieri and Associates Inc.. She was also a major stock holder and owner of the family surveying and engineering business. Mary Ann also enjoyed painting, playing the piano and organ, growing flowers, traveling, her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of Vancouver Church of God.

She is survived by her husband, John; sons, Mathew and Daniel (Twila) Barbieri. She had five grandchildren, Tim, Krystal, John, Dakota and Karter Barbieri. She had five great-grandchildren, Trey Dunn, Taylor Lollar, Caleb Lollar, Alissa Wren and Brooklyn Barbieri.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. at Vancouver Church of God, 3300 NE 78th St., Vancouver, Wash., 98665. A light lunch will be severed shortly after the ceremony.
