Barbara ‘Chris’ Rantala

GARTH POINT — Barbara “Chris” Rantala, 71, of Garth Point, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at her home her family by her side.

Chris was born Dec. 3, 1946 in Dearborn, Mich., the daughter of Doyle and Betty (McGrath) Kendrick. She was united in marriage to Ken Rantala on Sept. 4, 1971 in Westland, Mich. She worked for many years as a teller at Wells Fargo Bank until her retirement in 2008. Family was very important to Chris and she enjoyed spending time with her mother, husband, children and grandchildren.

Chris is survived by her husband, Ken; her children, Jackie Greene of Howard, Wis., Erik (Michelle) Rantala of Antigo, Wis. and Lisa (Nathan) Gilbert of Antigo, Wis.; grandchildren, Travis, Chelsea, Ethan, Megan, Camren, Riley and Madelyn; brothers, Jim (Gaye) Kendrick of Phoenix, Ariz. and Dave (Sue) Kendrick of Onsted, Mich.; sister-in-law, Heather Kendrick of Lewiston, Mich. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Larry Kendrick.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Closing prayers will be at 6 p.m.
