Jean Marie Dubord

ESCANABA — Jean Marie Dubord, 83, of Escanaba, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at her home surrounded by family following a long battle with cancer. She was born on Jan. 18, 1935, in Gladstone, Mich., the third of seven daughters born to Irvin and Lydia (Seely) MacKenzie. The former Jean MacKenzie married James Dubord on June 17, 1950, in Escanaba and he preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2015. Together, the couple shared 65 years of marriage and raised eight children. Jean worked for the Daily Press for over 20 years. She enjoyed camping at Stevens Lake, gardening, bingo, going to the casino, and playing cards. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Escanaba. Jean will be greatly missed by all.

Jean Marie Dubord is survived by her children, Jim (Donna) Dubord of Stevens Lake, Tom (Mary) Dubord of Escanaba, Sue (Bob) Rowley of Escanaba, Cindy (Dave) Revis of Escanaba, Gary (Sue) Dubord of Escanaba, Patty Carlson of Escanaba, Chuck (Lila) Dubord of Wells, and Amy (John) Collingwood of Wells; sisters, Lettie (Walter) Hougton, Joyce Meyer, and Lydia (Dan) Kelly; 25 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by infant daughter, Kathleen; grandson, Bobby; granddaughter, Tina; and sisters, Betty, Ann, and Jackie.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Escanaba with Father Rick Courier officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
