Anthony J. ‘Tony’ Krauss

ESCANABA — Anthony J. “Tony” Krauss, 78, of Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday morning, Nov. 14, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at the home of his daughter in Bark River.

Tony was born on Dec. 29, 1939, in Muskegon, Mich., son of William and Olive M. (Laurin) Krauss.

He married Sandra Krauss on May 1, 1964, and she preceded him in death in 1998.

Tony proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1963.

He was employed as a machinist for Harnischfeger until their closure and then worked for Lakeside Machine, retiring in 2002.

Tony volunteered as a senior companion which his loved doing.

Tony loved hunting, fishing, playing cribbage, going to the casino and especially spending time with his family.

He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the AmVets.

Among survivors are his two children, Brenda Anderson (Todd Wallace) of Bark River and Bradley (Marie) Krauss of Copperas Cove, Texas; and grandchildren, Andrew, Ashlee, Brandon and Dallas.

In addition to his wife, Sandy, he was preceded in death by siblings.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The funeral service celebrating the life of Tony will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Elise Edwardson officiating.

Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
