Peggy Ann Christiansen

GLADSTONE — Peggy Ann Christiansen, 82, of Gladstone, passed away early Monday morning, Oct. 8, 2018, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, Mich.

Peggy was born on March 31, 1936, in Upper Marlboro, Md., the daughter of James Sr. and Anastasia (Moran) Loveless. She was raised in Upper Marlboro and was a 1954 graduate of Frederick Sasser High School.

On Sept. 3, 1955, Peggy was united in marriage to Duane Dewey Christiansen, at First Lutheran Church in Gladstone, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Gladstone. Although Peggy and Duane lived in Michigan Center, Mich., for several years, they always considered Gladstone their home. Duane preceded Peggy in death on Feb. 2, 2000.

Peggy belonged to the Delta County Genealogical Society, the U.P. Vintage Tin Auto Club and volunteered for Hospice. She was a kind and spiritual person with a deep belief in God and will be sadly missed by those closest to her.

Survivors include: daughters, Sharon (Gary) VanHall and Carol (Jim) Woody; grandchildren, LeeAnn (Anthony) Howard, Dan (Erika) Watkins, Ryan Watkins and Anastasia Woody; great-grandchildren, Lukas, Layne, Brady, Ealey, and Aaron

She is also survived by her loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Anastasia; her husband, Duane and her siblings.

Peggy’s family will receive friends on Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow visiting hours at 1:30 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone with Kenneth Benson officiating. Peggy will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery following funeral services. Contributions in Peggy’s name may be directed to the Delta County Cancer Alliance. Envelopes will be available throughout visiting hours. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements.
