Patricia ‘Patty’ E. Carroll

STONINGTON — Patricia “Patty” E. Carroll, 55, of Stonington, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 27, at Christian Park Healthcare Center. She was born on Oct. 8, 1962, in Escanaba, the daughter of Richard and Janet (Johnson) Carroll. Patty attended the DSISD Learning Center where she participated in gymnastics with the Special Olympics. She was proud to have graduated from the Learning Center in 1989. Patty loved to dance and listen to country music. She was a huge fan of Kenny Rodgers and Dolly Parton. Patty enjoyed doing craftwork, especially creating hook rugs and woven hot pads. Her dogs, Scooby and Tillie, brought her so much joy. Patty will be remembered for her sweet and loveable personality and also her kind, caring ways. She never forgot anyone’s birthday or anniversary. Patty was so much more than a daughter and sister; her family will always treasure the bond they shared. She always found great joy in spending time with her great-niece and nephews. Patty was quick to make someone smile and laugh and always had the ability to brighten someone’s day. It’s fitting that her favorite song to sing was, “You Are My Sunshine.” Those who knew her will always cherish the time they had together and will be forever grateful she was part of their lives. Patty was a member of CHAT (Community Handicap Awareness Team), Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonington, and the Stonington Booster Club.

Patricia E. Carroll is survived by her parents, Richard and Janet Carroll of Stonington; sisters, Madelyn (Jeff) Gauthier of Garden, and Barbara (Ken) Culliton of Rapid River; nephews, Justin (Mallory) Clickner of Escanaba, Matthew Clickner of Rapid River, Richard Clickner of Tomah, Wis., and Tyler Culliton of Rapid River; great-niece, Nora Clickner; great-nephews, Easton Clickner, and Landon Clickner; and godmother, Janet Howard of Smithville, Mo.
