Margaret ‘Muggs’ Pierson

ESCANABA — Margaret “Muggs” Pierson, 94, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 28, 2018, at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Muggs was born April 21, 1924, in Ingalls, Mich., the daughter of Benjamin and Ruby (Boeck) Paeske. She graduated from Escanaba High School.

Muggs loved to travel, sew, decorate, braid rugs, loved being outdoors and most importantly loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Hayward Bay.

Muggs is survived by: son, Bob Pierson of Germantown, Wis.; four daughters, Betty Petersen, Escanaba, Barb (Brian) Sorby of Escanaba, Jan Borden of Escanaba, and Carol (Duane) Carlson of Escanaba; grandchildren, Kevin (Dawn) Sorby, Jeff Sorby, Nicole (Josh) Martin, and Jillian (Daniel) Lange; three great-grandchildren, Jack, Wendy Martin, and Alyssa Peden; and special family member, Veronica Paeske.

In addition to her parents, Muggs was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Pierson, and sister, Dorothy Oliver.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Muggs will be laid to rest next to her husband in Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
