Ginny R. Kwarciany

ESCANABA — Ginny R. Kwarciany, 44, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, at UP Health System – Marquette.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1973, in Lubbock, Texas, daughter of Charlie Hathcock and Ginny Morris. Ginny was raised in Dallas, Texas, and then graduated from MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas. She attended the University of Las Vegas.

Ginny served in the United States Air Force from 1992-2000.

On Oct. 14, 2000, Ginny Hathcock married Steven T. Kwarciany in Las Vegas.

Ginny worked a variety of jobs over the years while her husband, Steve, continued to serve in the Air Force. She was employed with Dial Reprographics, Computer Sciences Corporation, USAF Services, Super One and more recently the Island Resort and Casino.

She enjoyed reading, playing games on her IPad, playing with her kids, playing and coaching soccer and supporting her kids in all of their events, including the Cub Scouts.

Among survivors are her husband, Steven Kwarciany of Escanaba; her children, Britni Fagan of Lancaster, Pa., Steven and Derek “DJ” Kwarciany, both of Escanaba; her parents, Charlie Hathcock of McKinney, Texas and Ginny and Derek Haley of Scappoose, Ore.; grandchildren, Kailee, Avery and Liam Fagan; sister, Daphne Trader of Scappose, Ore.; nephews, Alec Flack, Robert Hathcock and Dylan Trader; and many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The Rheaume-Knauf American Legion Post 438 of Bark River will have military rites at 6 p.m. and Rev. Darryl Pepin will have parish prayers at 8 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday, May 25, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with Rev. Darryl Pepin officiating. Burial will be in Bark River Cemetery.

A meal will immediately follow in the church hall.

Memorials may be directed to Ginny’s husband, Steven to assist with expenses.
