Nancy L. Paquin
GLADSTONE — Nancy L. Paquin, 80, of 8053 County 426 M.5 Road, Gladstone, passed away Saturday evening, March 31, 2018, at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. She was born on May 2, 1937, in Petoskey, Mich., the daughter of William and Martha (Larson) Kuebler. At a young age, she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. She was never one to complain or let it slow her down. Nancy grew up in Petoskey and later moved to Escanaba where she graduated from high school in 1955. Following graduation, she worked at the Delta County Courthouse.
On Dec. 1, 1956, the former Nancy L. Kuebler married Arthur Paquin at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock. The couple shared 61 years of marriage together and raised three children. Nancy loved being a homemaker where she cared for her husband and children. She appreciated the little things in life, especially artwork. She loved drawing and was an accomplished artist. Nancy enjoyed fishing and ice skating. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, as family was very important to her.
Nancy L. Paquin is survived by husband, Arthur Paquin of Gladstone; children, Amber Norkooli of Gladstone, Wade (Tammy) Paquin of Escanaba, and Amy (Andy) Broeders of Brampton; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Janell, Lauren, Kyle, Allie, Jaylene, Erica, and Rochelle; five great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Rianna, Xavier, Blake, and Nolan; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Emer “Sonny” Peterson.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock with Father Francis Dobrzenski officiating. A luncheon will be served afterward in the church fellowship hall. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
