Rickey M. Tryan

MARQUETTE — On Friday, Sept. 22, after a valiant battle with colon cancer, Rickey Michael Tryan passed away in the arms of his loving God and family at the age of 66.

Rickey was born on July 17, 1951, in Escanaba, a son of Kenneth and June (Weissert) Tryan. He was one of seven brothers.

Rickey joined the Navy at 23 and did two tours in Vietnam. He then graduated from Sonoma State University in Santa Rosa, Calif., with a degree in biology and entomology.

Rickey loved woodworking and went on to make a career in carpentry. He was an avid pool player, he loved four-wheeling and spending his free time at camp. He was known to play his harmonica and sing around the campfire for his family and friends. He was a family man first and foremost; his family was his greatest pride in life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terry Tryan (Chudy); his two daughters, Bailey Tryan (Trevor Poupore) and Tessa (Shane) Dagenais; his grandkids, Clara and Reid Dagenais; his five brothers, Dennis, David, Randy, Gill and Ken; and his canine companion Coco. Preceding him in death were his parents, Kenneth and June; and his brother Ted.

At Rickey’s request, no services will be held.

Rickey’s family would like to thank Dr. Acharya, U.P. Home Health & Hospice and Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Ill. for their care and support.
