Shirley Mae Radcliff

GLADSTONE — Shirley Mae Radcliff, 92, of Gladstone, passed away Friday, May 5, at Lakeview Assisted Living in Gladstone. She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Boston, Mass. and was the daughter of Frederick and Bertha (Sweet) Clark. Shirley graduated from Boston High School. She was employed as a IBM key puncher at Solar Corporation in San Diego, Calif.

The former Shirley Clark married Raymond Gilligan, together they shared 30 years of marriage. Shirley married Raymond Radcliff in 1970 and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2014. In 1991, Shirley and Raymond moved to Cedar River. In 2012, moved to Gladstone. Shirley was a volunteer with the Red Cross, serving on the national disaster team. She also was a member of the V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge.

Shirley Mae Radcliff is survived by: daughter, Edna (Richard) Johnson of Bark River; son, Michael (Beverly) Gilligan of San Diego, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, Mara, Jen, Ray, Davey, Joe, Bobby, Matt, Jimmy, Brandon, Julieann and Jamie; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by son, Patrick Gilligan; daughter, Geraldine “Geri” Schiemeyer; grandson, Ricky Johnson; brothers, Al Nash and Fred Clark; and sister, Helen Batchler.

Private family funeral services celebrating the life of Shirley Mae Radcliff will be held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schaffer. Burial will take place in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
