Mitchell John DeGraves
GLADSTONE — Mitchell John DeGraves, 27, of 5971 Township 22.6 Road, Gladstone, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday evening, Dec. 12, 2016.
Mitchell was born Jan. 15, 1989, in Escanaba, the son of Amy DeGraves and Monty St. Cyr. He was raised in Escanaba and graduated from Fitzharris Alternative High School in 2007. He was united in marriage to the former Jonna Royer on Jan. 20, 2006. Mitchell worked at the Dollar Value Store in Gladstone, Grede Foundry in Kingsford and Aurora Castings in Aurora, Wis.
Mitchell’s hobbies included walking his dogs, jet skiing and cutting firewood. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and pets. Mitchell recently gave his heart to the Lord and was very proud of his walk with Jesus.
In addition to his wife Jonna, survivors include: mother, Amy St. Cyr-DeGraves of Iron Mountain; father, Monty St. Cyr of Escanaba; brothers, Gaige and Devin St. Cyr and Grant DeGraves, all of Escanaba; sister, Alexis St. Cyr of Escanaba; grandmothers, Gladys DeGraves, step-grandmother, Jeri DeGraves, Doris DeGrave, Carolyn Crowley; great-grandmother, Roberta Allen; mother- and father-in-law, Frank and Sue Royer of Gladstone; brother-in-law, Ben Royer of Gladstone; and pets, Libby, Cleo, Teko, Midnight and Ella.
In addition to his grandfather Tex DeGraves, great-grandfather, Rover (Red) DeGrave, his dog Mia preceded Mitchell in death.
Mitchell’s family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Mitchell John DeGraves will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Hanson of the Grace Church officiating. Luncheon will follow at the Grace Church in Gladstone.
