Robert Scott Yelland

ELGIN, Ill. – Robert Scott Yelland, 77, of Elgin, Ill., passed away peacefully on Jan. 28, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 4, 1938, to his late parents, Harlan and Edith Yelland in Escanaba, Mich. Robert graduated Escanaba Area Public High School in 1957, and then served in the United States Army while living in Alaska for a two-year period of time. He was a long-time employee of Harnischfeger and Mead Paper while living in Escanaba, and later a career with Culligan where he continued to work after moving to Illinois. He was an avid car lover that enjoyed working on them as well. Later in life, he began collecting watches, and has left behind many special memories and stories with each one that he gave away to his loved ones over the years.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Carol Yelland; and her three sons, Robert Wojciechowski and his daughter, Alyssa, James (Michele) Wojciechowski and daughters, Kate and Sarah, Thomas (Tasha) Wojciechowski. He is also survived by his three children, Lisa (Dean) Engelhardt, Lance Yelland (fiance Diane Samuelson), Lana Vuksan (fiance Dave LaBonte); as well as nine grandchildren, Ryan (Jamie)Engelhardt, Nathan (Julie) Engelhardt, Jordan Engelhardt, Lauren Engelhardt, Justin Yelland, Braeden Yelland, Marissa Vuksan, Erin Vuksan, Jared Vuksan; and four great-grandchildren, Bryson and Addison Engelhardt, and Logan and Leif Engelhardt. Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis; and brothers, Judd and Harlan Yelland.

The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life Ceremony on Feb. 20 where we will recall and share all the special memories of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to cherish until we see him once again.
