Christine E. Hughes
ESCANABA – Christine E. Hughes, 63, of Escanaba, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at Pine Haven Rest Home in Gladstone, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 14, 1952, in Escanaba, and was the daughter of Albert and Corrine Wunder. Christine graduated from Escanaba High School in 1970 and then attended Bay de Noc Community College receiving her License Practical Nursing (LPN) degree. She was a dedicated nurse, working in the nursing profession in this area for many years until her retirement. Christine loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She enjoyed cooking and baking and hosting holidays at her home, which was always open to family and friends. Christine was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, loved Elvis Presley, and enjoyed reading, going to the movies and the casino.
Christine E. Hughes is survived by her children, David (Kristy) LaCosse of Escanaba, Kenneth (Karen) LaCosse of Escanaba, Paul Adcock (fiance Tricia) of Escanaba, Sarah Hughes of Flat Rock; 13 grandchildren; five brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Christine Hughes will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at the Harbor Tower in Escanaba.
