Escanaba competes in High School Bowl

MARQUETTE – Escanaba played Newberry in High School Bowl and won by a score of 250-150. Thirty-six schools from the Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin field teams for WNMU-TV’s High School Bowl tournament, now celebrating 47 years on the air. Escanaba will advance to the second round when they play Ironwood, scheduled to air on Feb. 14.
Running from November through the championship game in April, the High School Bowl series airs on WNMU-TV Saturdays at 8 pm and Mondays at 3 pm. It is also available statewide on the Michigan Learning Channel.

High School Bowl is the flagship local program of WNMU-TV, captivating audiences since 1977. This exciting academic competition features high school teams from Northern Michigan and Wisconsin competing in a thrilling battle of knowledge. Teams of four test their skills across various subjects, including history, science, literature, geography, art, music, and math. The program culminates in an annual single-elimination tournament, beginning with an 8-game “Play-in Round.”
