Plane makes emergency landing on M-28

On Thursday night, M-28 near Star Siding Road in Alger County was temporarily closed due to a plane that had to make an emergency landing after its engine blew mid-flight. There were no injuries, and the pilot was able to land safely. Michigan State Police from the 8th District Headquarters assisted on scene. Alger County Sheriff’s Office and Mining Fire Department also assisted. The plane was brought to Hanley Field Airport in Wetmore by state troopers
