ONTONAGON — Due to exceedingly poor trail conditions on the Pioneer (P) Trail between the Ontonagon County Fairgrounds and Ridge Road, MI-TRALE (Michigan Trails and Recreation Alliance of Land and the Environment) has had to close this portion of the popular trail until further notice.

A detour has been signed and is to be used until the contractors have completed the repairs to this section of the trail. All riders are requested to respect this detour, so the contractors can complete their repairs as safely and swiftly as possible. The maximum speed limit for this detour is 25 mph.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause our trail riders, but your safety is our priority,” said Donna Wolf of MI-TRALE. “The detour goes out of the fairgrounds, turns left through Greenland and then connects up with Ridge Road.”

MI-TRALE will inform the general public you as soon as the repair is complete and that section of the P trail is open again to riders.

Starting at $3.50/week.
