ESCANABA — Two events that began Friday are again open to guests at the Upper Peninsula State Fairgrounds between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday.

One, the Ice Fishing and Hunting Expo, occupies the Ruth Butler Building and serves to provide people who love the outdoors with equipment and knowledge to enjoy activities like hunting, fishing and camping.

At a space reserved by Total Land Management, Tom Mesnard will hold a seminar at 3 p.m. about how hunters can improve their odds when targeting whitetail deer.

Representatives from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have a booth to share some tips on dealing with winter weather.

Nearby, in building number five, several crafters are selling their wares.

Some vendors don’t fit either category but are also attending the event to reach customers.

Two food trucks — BellaNasi and Southern Bayou — are also parked outside to offer attendees hot food options.

Visitors are granted entry to the dual expos with the donation of a non-perishable food item for a local pantry or money for the Delta Animal Shelter.

Starting at /week.
