ESCANABA -- Local Menards across the midwest are serving as local drop points for local food pantries this October. This includes the Menards in Escanaba.

Menards is serving as a drop-off point for the Escanaba Salvation Army. Cans and other non-perichable food items can be dropped off at the designated collection box just past the check-out registers and near the restrooms. The drive started Oct. 1 and will end Oct. 31.

In a phone call with the Daily Press, manager Theo Hill expressed that he was looking forward to people supporting a local non-profit through donations made at their location.

Menards itself offers a wide variety of non-perishable food items that can be donated, from boxes of cereal to cans of soup that can be found in their grocery department for immediate donation.
