Some of the best business partners aren’t the ones who ask, "What’s in it for us?" They’re the ones who ask, "What do you need?"
That spirit of partnership earned Delta Fence & Construction the 2026 Business Partner of the Year Award, presented by the U.P. State Fair during the Delta County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on October 8.
Headquartered in Escanaba, Delta Fence & Construction has served the Upper Peninsula for more than 30 years, providing residential and commercial fencing services. Under the leadership of President and Owner Kevin Sodermark, the company has continued to grow, expanding its facilities, adding employees and strengthening its relationship with L&C Enterprises’ manufacturing operations.
Its success has earned recognition beyond Delta County. In 2024, Delta Fence was named one of Michigan’s 50 Companies to Watch, an honor celebrating growing businesses demonstrating innovation, leadership and potential for continued success.
But at the U.P. State Fair, we know another side of Delta Fence’s success story.
During an urgent situation at the 2026 Fair, Delta Fence didn’t ask us to wait or promise to fit us into its schedule. They dropped everything and came to help.
That kind of response speaks volumes about a business and its commitment to community.
Fortunately, that generosity extends far beyond the fairgrounds.
Delta Fence supports schools, youth athletics, veterans, public safety, arts and recreation, and organizations serving children and families. Whether through sponsorships, financial contributions or simply lending a helping hand, the company consistently demonstrates that community investment is as important as business growth.
The Chamber’s 2026 Annual Dinner theme, United We Thrive, perfectly captures what Delta Fence represents: a successful local business creating opportunities while strengthening the community that helped make its success possible.
As Delta Fence continues building its future in the Upper Peninsula, it is also helping build something equally important ~ a stronger community.
The Delta County Chamber of Commerce and U.P. State Fair proudly congratulate Kevin Sodermark and the entire Delta Fence & Construction team on this well-deserved recognition!
