Bells for Hospice ceremony in Escanaba

By For the Daily Press 1 min read

ESCANABA -- November is National Hospice Month, and during this time, the "Ring Bells for Hospice" campaign will launch locally and throughout the state to create awareness of hospice organizations and philosophy.

On Monday, November 2, community members are invited to join the staff and volunteers from OSF Home Care & Hospice and North Woods Home Care & Hospice to ring bells in memory of those in the community who have passed this year while in hospice care. The event will take place on the lawn of the Escanaba Seventh-day Adventist Church pantry, behind Walgreens, at the corner of South Lincoln Road and 1st Avenue South at approximately noon EST for the bell ringing.

Prior to the start of the event, there will be a gathering at 11:45 a.m. to share hot chocolate and soup. The program itself will be about 30 minutes, and will consist of a prayer, a moment of silence at noon, and singing. Event coordinators have also asked community churches to ring their bells at noon.

Starting at /week.
