College fair to be held for prospective students and the public

ESCANABA -- Next Monday, the Escanaba campus of Bay College is hosting a college fair, inviting students, families, community members, high school counselors and officials to attend.
“Stay Local, Go Far!” is the slogan organizers hope to convey. Bay College is hosting the event in partnership with the Michigan College Fairs Committee, Michigan Association for College Admissions Counseling (MACAC) and Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO). More than 35 colleges, universities, military services, and trade schools from across the Midwest will be on hand -- bringing a wide range of educational and career opportunities right to the central Upper Peninsula.
"It's not always an easy task getting out of the U.P. This is an event where the colleges, universities, trade schools, and military services come to you,” said Bay College Director of Admissions Jessica Beaver. “I encourage you to bring your family and friends - you never know what you'll learn or who you'll meet.”
Attending institutions are Albion College, Art Academy of Cincinnati, Baker College, Bay College, Bellin College, Central Michigan University, College for Creative Studies, Ferris State University, Gogebic Community College, Grand Valley State University, Lake Superior State University, Marian University, MI Student Aid – Region 2, Michigan State University, Michigan Technological University, Minnesota North College, Northern Michigan University, Northwood University, Oakland University, PM School Cosmetology Arts Sciences, Saginaw Valley State University, St. Norbert College, The University of Olivet, United States Naval Academy, University of Michigan, University of Michigan – College of LSA, University of Michigan-Dearborn, University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and Western Michigan University.
Monday’s fair in Escanaba will be in the Besse Center between 5:30 and 7 p.m.
A second fair will be held at the Iron Mountain campus on Tuesday.
