Two teens were killed and two people seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash Saturday night in the town of Lake in Marinette County, according to Sheriff Randy Miller.
A vehicle operated by Landen J. Englund, 16, of Menominee, was southbound on County G near Loomis Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and went into the ditch, hitting a tree, the sheriff stated in a news release.
Englund had fatal injuries, as did 17-year-old Princeton J. Welty of Crivitz, who was a front-seat passenger.
Transported for medical treatment with serious injuries were two other passengers, including one who was ejected from the vehicle, Miller said. No names or information on their condition was provided.
Speed appears to be a factor in the crash, he said.
Marinette County dispatch received an iPhone crash notification at 10:55 p.m. Saturday and a short time later received a call from someone who reported they had come upon the crash, according to the news release.
Investigation continues by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Assisting were members of the Town of Lake Fire Department, Crivitz Fire, Middle Inlet Fire, Crivitz Rescue and Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area EMS.
