On Washington Avenue near Rose Park, fresh asphalt is installed Thursday afternoon. The road has been closed for seven weeks (since June 24) to allow for lead service line replacement. It may remain closed as sidewalks on the stretch still need to be replaced.
Beginning today, another portion of road -- South 10th Street from Fifth Avenue South to Lake Shore Drive -- will be closed for paving, according to a press release from the City of Escanaba. Ludington Street paving is due to begin Aug. 26. (R. R. Branstrom)
