Big Turnout Marks Successful 53rd Waterfront Arts Festival

ESCANABA -- A massive crowd gathered at the south end of Ludington Park on Saturday to see the works of visiting artists at this year's Waterfront Arts Festival.
The event ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with more than 50 artists displaying their work. Local food trucks were also present to provide food and refreshments to the crowd.
Live music was performed from the nearby Karas Bandshell. Musical acts included Remnants Barbershop Chorus, the Escanaba City Band and Make Believe Spurs.
"We are super thankful to our sponsors, every vendor we had, the amazing food trucks and our wonderful music," Bonifas Events Coordinator Alex Letts informed the press.
The Waterfront Arts Festival has been a local tradition for 53 years, with the goal of showcasing Upper Peninsula artists and creating a fun environment for the local community.
"Over the years, the Waterfront Art Festival has evolved, but our ultimate goal is to host a fun day for all ages to come, enjoy creativity, music and connect with local artists. Judging from all the great feedback we received at the event, we've far exceeded that goal," said Bonifas Executive Director Chelsea Hart.
