YooperFest to feature 14 bands

ESCANABA — A music festival known as Yooperfest is coming to the Upper Peninsula State Fairgrounds this weekend.
A full docket of popular area musicians are scheduled to perform Friday and Saturday. In order of appearance, Dust Bunnies, Doozy, Pickstop, Peltier Brothers, Bad Timing and Stonewall will appear on Friday, split between two stages. Saturday’s shows include Black Ice Diamonds, The Grand Design Band, Heat Map, Sore on Sunday, Drednot, Sit Down Francis, Borrowed Time and Sky Pilots.
Camping sites at the fairground all offer include water and electric hookups. Access begins today at noon. Organizers direct attendees to enter the gate off of 12th Avenue.
Friday campground access begins at 8 a.m., and that day’s music kicks off at 4 p.m.
Saturday campground access begins at 8 a.m., with shows starting at 2 p.m.
Food trucks and beer tents will also be onsite at the festival.
People who ordered tickets early were eligible to be enetred into a drawing for a new cooler full of swag.
