Who could possibly be the owner of such a BIG FOOT!? Shown poking out from underneath a plastic sheet to protect it from the rain on Wednesday is a large, sandy, sculped foot. (R. R. Branstrom | Daily Press)
GLADSTONE — The sculptures on Gladstone beach crafted over the last several days by Art Club have been completed.
Just in time for the Fourth of July, artists John Martinez, Billy Budd, Sean Gallagher, Mark Mishler and Melanie Martinez have left behind three large creations of clay and sand. The impermanent statues, all designed to look like friendly varieties of a popular large creatures of legend, will provide photo opportunities for Gladstone visitors until they eventually crumble.
The project was commissioned by Visit Escanaba to help promote Delta County as a destination.
