Menominee County Fair begins tomorrow

STEPHENSON — The Menominee County Fair is just about ready to begin at Shakey Lakes County Park in Stephenson. The four-day event is set for July 16 to 19.

First known as the Cloverland Farmers Fair and later as Dairy Days, the tradition began in 1913 and has brought generations together for more than a century. While the name has evolved, the heart of the fair remains the same — celebrating agriculture, community and good old-fashioned fun.

Today’s fair blends tradition with modernity. Featured activities and entertainment are live music, animal and craft exhibits, a kids’ fishing tournament, truck and tractor pulls, pageants, music and games.

New and returning attractions at the Menominee County Fair are a Ladies Day program, beer and wine tasting event, kids’ foam party, Agri Golf, pedal tractor pulls, axe throwing, bounce houses and more.

The live music schedule includes Thursday performances by DJ The Worxz and then The Descendants; Charlie Scoggins, Todd Wangerin Project and Neon Detour on Friday; Logan Spicer and The Bad Mother Truckers on Saturday; and The Country Classics by Larry and Cheryl Pepin on Sunday followed by the Whitens Duo.

Details may be found at menomineecountyfair.com, the Menominee County Fair Facebook page and on the county website.

The fairgrounds are at N8390 County Park Road in Stephenson.
