70 grams of cocaine seized in Marinette County

MARINETTE -- A Marinette woman was arrested Friday after an investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office led to the seizure of more than 70 grams of cocaine.

Crystal Lynn Peterson, 51, faces one count of possession with intent to deliver more than 40 grams of cocaine -- second or subsequent offense; one count of maintaining a drug trafficking place -- second or subsequent offense; and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia -- repeater, according to Wisconsin Circuit Court Access.

According to a news release, deputies with the Marinette County Sheriff's Office conducted a follow-up drug investigation at a residence in the City of Marinette at approximately 6:03 p.m. Friday.

During the investigation, a total of 70.435 grams of cocaine, as well as other drugs including marijuana and drug paraphernalia, were located. The Marinette County Sheriff's Office referred charges to the Marinette County District Attorney.

At an initial court appearance Tuesday, a Marinette County judge set Peterson’s cash bond at $10,000. She remains lodged in the Marinette County Jail as of Wednesday.

Peterson’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 20.
