MARQUETTE COUNTY – An Ishpeming man was arrested and charged with several counts of child sexually abusive material and more.

Shawn Cory Holm, 41, is charged with 13 counts of child sexually abusive material – possession, 13 counts of child sexually abusive activity – aggravated and 26 counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

According to a news release, the Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested Holm following an investigation initiated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the ICAC Task Force.

The NCMEC and the ICAC Task Force learned Holm may have accessed and shared illicit content on the internet, prompting the investigation.

A subsequent search of his residence resulted in digital evidence being seized.

Holm was arraigned in the 96th District Court of Marquette on Monday. His bond was set at $260,000, with 10% allowed. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 15.

“The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children and family members about safe use of the internet,” said MSP. “There are many resources available to assist in keeping children safe online.”
