Gladstone man arrested for child sexually abusive activity

GLADSTONE — A Gladstone man has been arrested for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force announced the arrest of Andrew Lee Gigowski, 42, this afternoon.

Gigowski was arrested following an investigation initiated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the ICAC Task Force.

During the course of the investigation, NCMEC and ICAC learned that Gigowski may have accessed and shared illicit content on the internet. A subsequent search of his residence resulted in digital evidence being seized.

Gigowski is charged with two counts of aggravated child sexually abusive material, two counts of possessing child sexually abusive material and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime. He was arraigned in the Delta County 94th District Court today.

The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children about safe use of the internet. There are many resources available to assist in keeping children safe online.
