ESCANABA — Our Community Fighting Cancer donated $1,394 to the Delta County Cancer Alliance on Monday. 

This is the fourth and final year that Our Community Fighting Cancer has been able to donate to the Cancer Alliance.  Over the years, thousands of dollars were raised for the DCCA. Funds were raised through Camping for Cancer campaigns, all night walks in memory and honor of those with cancer, raffles, and luminary bag sales.  

Both organizations — DCCA and Our Community Fighting Cancer — are affiliated with the Community Foundation of Delta County. 

With this final donation, this will close the Our Community Fighting Cancer organization.

Co-founder Cindy Gendron expressed that she would like to thank everyone who helped throughout the years through sponsorships, donations, volunteering, and supporting the events.
