Two in Daggett face multiple charges, including first degree criminal sexual conduct
MENOMINEE COUNTY – The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in Lake Township on Wednesday at approximately 2:03 p.m. as part of an ongoing criminal sexual conduct investigation, Sheriff Darrin Kudwa of the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office reported.
According to the department, the investigation has been approximately one week long. As a result of the investigation, two residents of Daggett were arrested and lodged at the Menominee County Jail on a $750,000 cash bond, according to a news release.
Travis Scott Thiry, 44, was arraigned Thursday in the 95A District Court on five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person under the age of 13, one count of accosting children for immoral purposes and one count of selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Thiry remains lodged in the Menominee County Jail.
Rocquel Anne Irving, 38, was also arraigned Thursday in the 95A District Court. She faces three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person under the age of 13, three counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of accosting children for immoral purposes, one count of gross indecency between females and one count of selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Irving also remains lodged in the Menominee County Jail.
According to Michigan legislature (MCL 750.520b), being convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct is generally punishable by up to life in prison or any term of years, but not less than 25 years, if the violation was committed by an individual aged 17 years or older against an individual less than 13 years old.
The department stated the investigation remains under active investigation.
Thiry and Irving are both set to appear in the 95A District Court for probable cause conferences on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Thiry is also facing a domestic violence charge from a separate case and is set to appear in court for a pretrial conference on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
