Jindis Connected Care soon to assist local elders

Business profile

Jindis Connected Care is a new business established by an experienced nurse. Its function will be to assist those who need a little bit of help around the home and finding further resources.

ESCANABA – A local woman is launching a business meant to provide services and outreach primarily to elderly people aging in place, “to help more of our community members maintain feeling more confident living at home on their own,” said Jamie Nestle, founder and owner of Jindis Connected Care.

Nestle, originally from Escanaba and now living in Bark River, relayed that she has been working in healthcare in Delta and Menominee Counties – but mostly the Escanaba area – for 17 years. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), having completed that program at Bay College in 2019.

It was about a year ago, when finishing a bachelor’s degree in applied workplace leadership at Northern Michigan University, that Nestle began working to develop the business model for Jindis Connected Care.

“I knew I wanted to be able to serve the community in a different way, rather than being employed through other businesses,” Nestle said. “And I felt that advocacy and outreach is a very good place to start, and having in-home services to help people retain living at home while they are still independent, and providing an affordable private pay service was a great benefit to the community.”

Services through Jindis Connected Care will allow area residents to hire help for home maintenance and chores; home safety modifications, like installation of grab bars and nonslip surfaces; and connection to other resources.

Jindis’s offerings stop short of medical services, at least for now. It’s meant to fill the gap for those who aren’t to the point that they need a nursing home or hospice, but are no longer up for completing 100% of their housework and yard work alone. As far as the advocacy and outreach portion, Jindis Connected Care aims to help identify each client’s needs for maintaining independence and life at home by communicating with the client and their loved ones and then connecting them with solutions, which may be other support services.

“Our company helps to identify those needs and find the resources for that need, no matter what it is,” Nestle explained.

As a brand-new business that only first registered as an LLC in October 2025, Jindis Connected Care is starting small, with just a couple employees.

“We are very small. So the nice thing is that there is one care manager who does all the advocacy and outreach. So that’s very personalized, as well as any in-home services; there’s one person to do all of the general home maintenance, itemized things,” Nestle said.

As the last formalities are finalized, Jindis Connected Care looks forward to serving the community, and expects to be able to start assisting clients in March.
