Man brought to OSF after Pardon Inc. incident
GLADSTONE – A man is being seen at OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group for a psychiatric evaluation after being secured by Gladstone Public Safety (GPS) in the early morning hours Friday at Pardon Incorporated in Gladstone.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., GPS responded to an incident at Pardon Incorporated, 3510 M-35, where a man was inside the building with what was initially suspected to be a handgun.
However, it was confirmed that the subject was in possession of a BB gun at the scene. Reports of a fake gun at the scene were incorrect, according to a GPS officer who spoke with the Daily Press.
GPS could confirm that the BB gun was not pointed at anyone. They could not comment on if the subject was an employee of Pardon Incorporated.
Early reports over dispatch stated the caller believed the man inside had an altered mental status.
No arrests have been made in the case. GPS confirmed there is no threat to the public. GPS was assisted by the Michigan State Police Gladstone Post.
