Registered nurse charged with stealing morphine

ESCANABA – A nurse faces a felony charge after being accused of stealing morphine in June at an assisted living facility in Escanaba.
Jenna Leigh Furmanski appeared in person for her arraignment Wednesday in the 94th District Court at the Delta County Courthouse before Judge Steve Parks on one count of larceny in a building, which the criminal complaint claims happened on or about June 16. She does not currently have an attorney.
Furmanski was arrested and booked into the Delta County Jail on Oct. 1, then released after posting $2,500 bond the same day. The name of the assisted living facility was not listed in the criminal complaint.
If convicted, Furmanski faces up to four years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
Her preliminary examination has been set for Oct. 23.
