ESCANABA — Multiple agencies responded to a large fire at industrial premises at 2003 23rd Ave. N. in northern Escanaba near the Wells water tower after a call came to Delta County Central Dispatch around noon on Thursday.

People are advised to avoid the area not only so that responders can properly reach the scene, but also to avoid breathing in hazardous smoke.

In areas in the path of smoke, windows should be closed and air handling systems shut off to reduce exposure.
