ESCANABA — Police are not releasing the name of the victim or the suspect in a homicide that occurred Wednesday morning.

At approximately 7:18 a.m. Wednesday, Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to a home in the city of Escanaba for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located the victim inside the residence. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect in the killing was taken into custody without incident. There is no ongoing threat to the community.

Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by Rampart EMS, the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, the Michigan State Police, the MSP Crime Lab, Delta County Central Dispatch, and other law enforcement agencies.

No further information if being release, as the death remains under investigation.
