Michigan gas prices increase

Gas prices in Michigan are up 10 cents from last week. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $3.23 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is 5 cents less than this time last month and 36 cents less than this time last year.

Motorists are paying an average of $48 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; a discount of about $9 from 2024’s highest price last July.

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand decreased from 9.15 million b/d to 9.04. Total domestic gasoline supply decreased from 228.4 million barrels to 227.1. Gasoline production decreased, averaging 9.8 million barrels per day.

“Despite the slight decrease in demand, Michigan motorists are seeing higher gas prices across the state,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group. “If demand continues to drop, pump prices may reverse course.”

– Least expensive gas price averages: Marquette ($3.05), Traverse City ($3.17), Flint ($3.20)
