Minor injuries in Ford River rollover crash

FORD RIVER — Emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident involving a rollover on M-35 near Camp Harstad on Monday. At 11:55 a.m. on Monday, Delta County Central Dispatch received a call about a two vehicle-accident with one vehicle rolled on its side. Ford River Fire Chief Brian Nelson said a vehicle heading south on M-35 was waiting to turn left when another car struck it from behind. .The vehicle waiting to turn had one occupant, who was pushed over the centerline and into the shoulder on the other side of the road when the other vehicle, carrying two occupants, hit it from behind.

The occupants in the other vehicle were flipped over on their side after the impact. The single occupant in the vehicle that was hit was transported to OSF Healthcare with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. Crews were able to clear the scene quickly, and traffic continued to flow without much disruption. The Ford River Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by Delta County Central Dispatch, Rampart EMS, Delta County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police (MSP) and Gene’s Towing.
