ESCANABA — The Unitarian Universalist Bay de Noc Fellowship invites all pet lovers and their furry companions to a special Blessing of the Pets Service on Sunday, July 27 at the Ludington Park Pavilion, beginning at 11 a.m. This inclusive, family-friendly event is open to everyone in the community.

Schedule of Activities:

– 11 a.m. Welcome service and music by Phil Lynch. Homily by Larry Godfrey

– 12 p.m. Blessing of pets led by Bruce Hansen and Larry Godfrey

Following the service: A free picnic lunch for humans and complimentary dog and cat treats for their companions

Pets must be leashed or otherwise secured.

“This Blessing of the Pets is our way of celebrating the special bond between pets and their people while supporting a worthy cause,” said Bruce Hansen, who will lead the service. Attendees are encouraged to make a free will offering, with all proceeds benefiting the Delta Animal Shelter. Additionally, guests may bring wish-list items for the shelter, helping to support its ongoing mission.
