Stephenson man arrested in stabbing
DAGGETT, Mich. — A 35-year-old Stephenson man was arrested Friday after allegedly stabbing an acquaintance in Dagget.
At approximately 10:58 p.m. on Friday, Menominee County Sheriff’s Department deputies were dispatched to a residence in Daggett Township for an unknown disturbance, which quickly turned into the report of a stabbing in progress. Deputies were further advised that the suspect had fled from the scene on foot, heading southbound.
Deputies arrived on scene at 11:01 p.m., with multiple officers on hand to assist the 24-year-old victim and search for the alleged suspect. The suspect was located at an adjacent property at 11:19 p.m., and was detained while the investigation continued. The suspect was ultimately transported to the Menominee County Jail, where he is lodged pending formal charges.
This was an isolated incident that occurred between acquaintances. There is no active threat to the public.
