Daily Press inaugural Wonderland Craft and Bake Sale is Saturday

ESCANABA — A craft show is coming to Escanaba this weekend, and it’s just in time to gift shop for the holidays.

This Saturday, the Daily Press hosts the inaugural Wonderland Craft and Bake Sale inside the Delta Plaza Mall from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Proceeds from vendor booth fees fund the Newspaper in Education (NIE) program.

NIE and Circulation Coordinator Doris Wodrich said roughly 30 vendors, including Susan’s Gems, Katz Boutique, Handcrafted Creations, and many other businesses and crafty individuals, are participating in the sale.

The show is free to enter; organizers ask individuals to bring a canned good. Collected cans will be donated to local food pantries.

Once inside, enjoy the craft and baked goods show, featuring 30 local and non-local vendors displaying hand-made crafts such as hats, mittens, small furniture, laser-burned wood, jewelry, felt objects, paintings, bird feeders, decorative birch canoes, Amish baked goods, and more.

Through the NIE program, the Daily Press serves 13 local schools and distributes 1,539 papers each week.

She added that some kids learn more from newspapers as they provide an account of what’s happening in their community.

“It’s also just a different way to learn, using a different kind of tool,” Wodrich said.

If you’re looking for a fun field day full of unique arts and crafts, the Wonderland Craft and Bake Sale is the place to be on Saturday.

Delta Plaza Mall is located at 301 North Lincoln Road in Escanaba. For questions, comments or concerns, contact the Daily Press at (906) 786 – 2021.

Starting at $2.99/week.
