ESCANABA — Voter turnout in Delta County reached 32.7% Friday.

According to the Michigan Voting Dashboard, 6,638 absentee ballots had been returned as of Friday afternoon. An additional 2,669 ballots were cast at Delta County’s early voting precinct, located at the Wells Township Hall.

In Menominee County, voter turnout was at 28.4% Friday, with 3,702 absentee ballots returned and 1,183 ballots case in early voting. Schoolcraft County has seen similar returns, with total voter turnout at 29.4%. A total of 4,959 absentee ballots were returned in Schoolcraft County and 1,998 voters participated in early voting, as of Friday.

Statewide, voter turnout was 35.5%, with 1,843,060 absentee ballots returned and 736,894 early voters.
