Delta County voter forum is Wednesday
ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters, in partnership with the American Association of University Women, announce a candidate forum on Wednesday, October 23. The forum will feature five segments beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Escanaba City Council Chambers located at 400 Ludington Street.
All candidates for the following races were invited to participate: 108th State Representative – Dave Prestin, Kayla Wikstrom and Christine Reynolds; Delta County Commissioner candidates for Districts 3 and 4 – Myra Croasdell, Christine Williams, David Moyle and Kelli VanGinhoven; Gladstone City Commission candidates – Stephen O’Driscoll, Michael O’Connor and Steven Viau; Bay College Board of Trustee candidates – Dennis Hopkins, Terri Mileski, Steven Soderman; and, Escanaba School Board candidates – James Beauchamp, Dan Flynn, Jennifer Johnson-Reeves and LeeAnne M. Oman.
Moderator, Shannon Taylor will open the forum with a welcome and introduction of the candidates. The first segment will feature the candidates for the Escanaba School Board, followed by the Bay College Board of Trustee candidates, the third segment will feature the candidates for the Gladstone City Commission, the candidates for the Delta County Commissioners will be the fourth segment and concluding the forum will be the 108th State Representative candidates. Each segment will allow the candidates to make an opening statement, respond to audience questions and conclude with a closing statement.
Questions may be submitted prior to the forum to lwvdeltacounty@gmail.com. Written audience questions will be collected during the forum. The public is invited to attend the forum and questions are encouraged.
The forum will be streamed live over the City of Escanaba’s website – https://www.dstech.net/live-streams/city-council-chambers/. The LWVDC also provides a free, non-partisan, online Voter Guide at Vote411.org to assist Delta County voters in making informed decisions when they vote in the General Election. Printed Voter Guides are available at the Escanaba and Gladstone Public Libraries.
Early voting begins on September 28 and ends on November 4 at the Wells Township Hall. Absentee ballots are available from your local clerk.
Polls are open at 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. November 5.
