ESCANABA — The annual Downtown Escanaba Sidewalk Sales are Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27, all along Ludington Street, which stretches from the Municipal Dock to Lincoln Road.

Hours and offerings vary by the shop, but participating businesses will be offering discounts, special items, drawings and more.

Heading from east to west:

– At 600 Ludington, the Daily Press will be providing free coffee and reading material on Friday only. There will also be the chance to win a $100 gas card, free subscriptions and a free birthday ad. As during a regular business day, the Press invites people to vote in the Pet Idol contest and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

– At 922, Grab & Go will be giving out free dessert samples and coupons and selling bag tacos, hot dogs and brats. They’re open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

– While offering 20% off storewide, East Ludington Gallery welcomes visitors to its new home at 1000 Ludington St. after relocating in May from the building on the other side of the street that still stands adjacent to the two lots destroyed by fire in January. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

– The St. Vincent de Paul Store at 1014 Ludington is offering 20% off miscellaneous merchandise and establishing a flat rate of $5 for any regularly-priced clothing items. Vinnie’s will be open 9 a.m. to 4 on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

– Youngs Menswear at 1119 will be giving away a two-piece suit and offering a deal in which neckties are 50% off with the purchase of a dress shirt. They’re running the sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

– Lisa Ann at 1305 Ludington St. is having a sale of 40 to 70% off summer clearance items and 30% off almost everything else from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

– Race-Driven PowerSports at 1419 Ludington is holding a raffle drawing, reducing prices of apparel up to 30%, and even discounting new Polaris off-road vehicles. The rates will be available during the store’s hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday only.
